FAQ

What kind of Pet Portrait do you make?

My style is realism with visible brush strokes. Please check out my style of painting here and my past commissioned works.

What materials do you use?

I use artist grade oil paints (Windsor Newton, Michael Hardings, Old holland, Gamblin and more) on primed canvas (usually ¾”edges), completely hand painted. Gamblin Gamvar varnish will be applied once a painting is complete. Any questions send me a message

Is the frame included?

Frames are not included however I will add the picture hanging so it will be ready to hang on the wall.
Later on if you decide to find a frame for your custom portrait, normally professional framers will attach appropriate hardwares
on the frame itself so it's secured.

Do you take commissions besides pets?

Commission is open only for pets, (I haven’t painted reptiles before but I’d love to!) however if you are wishing to have a traditional portrait done please contact me info@yokoloftis.com and we can discuss the possibility. Portrait commission fee will be different from pet portrait fee.

Can I order custom portrait as a gift for someone special?

Yes! About a half of my commissions are actually for a special occasion or thoughtful gift between family or friends.
You can commission through contact page and when the painting is complete, I can either ship it to you or to the gift receiver. If it's a surprise gift, I will refrain from social media posting about progress of work, so please let me know.

How long does it take to finish a painting?

I usually ask for at least a few weeks to a few months from the starting date and that's depending on the size and the complication. Oil paints are unique and slow drying material. Sometimes drying time varies depending on the temperature/humidity.
Get in touch with me, and we can discuss about the time frame, if you wish to have it done for occasion let me know.

What payment method do you take?

I accept online credit/debit cards, Paypal transactions and also, payment plans available. read more

I do not accept checks.

What do you need to start a commission?

After sending a commission form here please send me photo references to my email info@yokoloftis.com (original resolution non edited photos, send me as much as you wish)

To begin the process, I will send you a contract for you to sign, and a 50% deposit (that amount will be applied towards the final cost of the portrait) will be required to schedule your portrait in my calendar. The deposit is non-refundable after 7 days.

Reference photos should be the original photos and unedited.

Better quality photos will help produce a better outcome with the portrait. This is due to the amount of details I would like to see from the photos, actual colors of the eyes, fur and so on.

If you have more than one, send them my way!
Send me as many as you would like.
